Upgrade to Sharedway…

Wentworth Shire Council had been successful in obtaining funding through the NSW Government Resources for Regions Program Round 9. The Resources for Regions program aims to support the ongoing prosperity of mining communities in regional NSW by providing economic opportunities, improved amenities and positive social outcomes.

Council received $3,608,069, with this funding assisting in implementing 10 community projects that were identified by Shire residents.

  • Darling Street Footpaths $453,069 ex GST

The Buronga/Gol Gol Footpath & Shared ways scope is to the replace the spray sealed footpath adjacent to the Sturt Highway between Dring Hill Gol Gol, to the Midway Centre, Buronga. The area was identified by the community as a potential project, due to the diminishing pavement and potential tripping hazards. Council will replace the existing footpath with hot mix asphalt; this surface will improve community safety and create a well-used connective pathway for residents & tourists in the Council community.
