Wentworth Shire Council received funding through the NSW Local Small Commitments Allocation Program (LCSA) - a one-off NSW Government grants program that provides up to $400,000 to each of the 93 NSW electorates for community projects.

Originally an election commitment, the program funds small projects like capital works, services, equipment, and park upgrades through nominated community organisations and local councils.

Council received two allocations of grant funding from the LSCA program: the first was for the installation of shade sails in Fotherby & Junction Parks in Wentworth; the second, to upgrade Pioneer Memorial Park play equipment in Pooncarie. Both funded projects are now complete. Community feedback has been positive with further improvement suggestions coming from Pooncarie and Wentworth residents. Council has taken note of these community ideas and will look out for future grant opportunities.
