In January 2026, we asked what you love about our Wentworth Shire libraries and where we can improve. Your feedback will help us to deliver better services, spaces and programs for our community.

What we heard

98% Of survey respondents lived in the Wentworth Shire Area. 45% lived in Wentworth, 42 % from Buronga & Gol Gol area, & 11% from the Dareton township. 2% came from Mildura.

Community feedback indicated half of library members visit libraries in the Shire at least monthly.

Members aged 65 and over visit more frequently, parents with small children access programs and resources weekly. School holiday programs rang through the Midway Library Services were attended by large number children and parents and are always a welcoming activity during the holidays.

The primary reasons community members visit library services in Wentworth Shire are to borrow books, use the Wi-Fi and public computers, attend library programs, and use the space as a general meeting place to catch up with friends.

More than 50% of library members use additional services such as public computer access, Wi-Fi, printing, reading newspapers or magazines, and receiving assistance with technology. Community feedback also indicated a demand for e-books and more programs for adults and seniors.
