Background

Wentworth Shire Council was successfully in obtaining funding through NSW Government Resources for Regions program round 9.

The Resource for Region program has been running since 2012, providing support to communities across regional NSW impacted by mining. Round 9 of the grant programs supports communities in regional areas with infrastructure and community projects that support economic and social prosperity.

One of these projects was to the replace the footpath in Darling Street between Sandwych and Adelaide Streets, as this area was identified by community as a tripping hazard. Main goal was to replacement existing footpath with pebble concrete; this surface would improve community safety and create a well-used connective pathway for resident & tourist in the Wentworth community.
