Overview
Wentworth Shire Council has undertaken a partial review of the Buronga Gol Gol Structure Plan 2020 to address the long-term, strategic direction for the future growth of Buronga & Gol Gol. The review has focused on the current supply and estimated future demand for residential, commercial, industrial land and social infrastructure.
The Buronga Gol Gol Structure Plan 2026 aims to guide the future growth and development within the study area by providing a framework for co-ordinated development, ensuring that growth is managed appropriately, infrastructure requirements can be planned for and provided, and the area remains economically and socially sustainable for the future needs of the growing community
The Plan estimates the future growth of Buronga Gol Gol, and by doing so, ensures that future development is located and managed appropriately by Wentworth Shire Council in consultation with landowners and local developers.
Purpose:
The review has focused primarily on the following key aspects, as they relate to Buronga Gol Gol:
- changes to the Strategic and Statutory Planning Context and Framework that guides new development in the study area
- current population, demographic and economic statistics
- assessment of current zones and minimum lot size provisions
- land supply and estimated future demand
- a review of social services and guidance for the future provision of public open spaces.
The final Buronga Gol Gol Structure Plan 2026 will inform and guide Council in preparing and planning for the future requirements for the provision of infrastructure and services provided to support and service new development.
Objective:
The long-term objective for the Buronga Gol Gol Structure Plan is to provide a future vision for this specific area in the Shire, and guide future development, land use, and infrastructure by setting a strategic framework for growth.
Its main objective is to ensure that the areas are developed in a planned and sustainable way, that benefits the community, manages growth, provides certainty for residents and investors, and makes the best use of resources within the locality.
